I have a love-hate relationship with March ever since moving to Edmonton, AB. It brings longer days and some snow melts. You can start to feel warmth in sunshine. It signals the end of deep winter and kicks off theoretical Spring. But it sits on a throne of lies. It’s still below freezing the vast majority of the time. It snows and snows and snows. Real spring (as marked by the emergence of life) is still months away. I sit inside staring longingly at the beautiful evening sunlight that is too cold to enjoy outside.

To pile on the insults, the internet is flooded with pictures of gorgeous early spring flowers as warmer weather hits much of the rest of the world. As much as I love the imagery….
